With its large, melon-shaped radial driver for low frequencies, the 101 E MKII loudspeaker proves itself the legitimate successor to the original MBL model, the legendary MBL 100, which in 1979 enriched music reproduction with a revolutionary method of sound generation. Never before had a loudspeaker managed to distribute the entire spectrum, from the highest overtones to the bass, so evenly throughout the listening room. And never before had the hi-fi world seen a component of such a distinctive shape. This heritage also shapes the design of the 101 E MKII radial driver.

But decades of development have yielded countless refinements: The 101 E MKII's high, mid, and low frequencies can be adjusted separately and with utmost subtlety to suit the room acoustics, the drive electronics, and individual listening preferences. The delicate lamellae of the radial radiator elements for the mid and high frequencies are now made of lightweight yet rigid carbon fibers, and a subwoofer has been added for the lowest bass frequencies, more precisely, a separate bandpass enclosure housing a 30-centimeter downward-firing aluminum diaphragm that delivers fundamental sound pressure. Even in rooms of 100 square meters, a pair of 101 E MKII speakers performs with absolute authority. The legend lives on, and resonates.
